Resumo

This article analyzes the development of a new user interface for augmentative alternative communication system for people with severe non-progressive chronic encephalopathy. As a population characterized by serious communication and mobility limitations, few software products may be eventually used. Even today, none of these products perfectly meets their needs. Therefore, the aim of this project was to find new forms of human-computer interaction that best solve their communication needs. The new software specifications we produced were tested and validated with experimental designs in various stages. Along the way, the need to establish not only the functional specifications of the software product but also a) a protocol adapted to users that are unique to their needs and latent abilities; and b) a new approach in the design of interfaces for the disabled.
