Abstract

Student typologies of the Faculty of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences (FCEFN) of the National University of San Juan (UNSJ) are determined, which will have relevance in the academic performance and in the academic quality of the Faculty. For this, we worked with data obtained in a survey conducted in 2017, to students using two approaches to data analysis: classical and symbolic. The first uses Multidimensional Data Analysis (AMD) techniques, which allow a classification of the responses by means of the Multiple Correspondence Factor Analysis (ACM) and subsequent Cluster Analysis, using the SpaD-N software. For the symbolic approach to data, the concept and the creation of symbolic objects and tables were introduced. Subsequently, using the SODAS software (Symbolic Official Data Analysis System), exhaustive descriptions of the students, by department, of the Faculty were obtained.
