Proposal of an Architecture for a Decision Support System in the Health Area

Abstract

Decision Support Systems (DSS) emergence brought with it arevolution in decision-making processes; its beginnings took place within theframework of academic research, but gradually they were incorporated intodifferent fields, the most significant being financial and health. Currently,these systems are being successfully implemented in the health area. Applyingmachine learning to a large collection of data (Big Data) and subsequentlyanalyzing the results, they make recommendations to professionals in order tohelp them make clinical or health decisions, through human-computerinteraction. The objective of this work will be to facilitate integrated access tohealth information and assist decision-making through visualizations,predictions and recommendations, using Business Intelligence (BI) andBusiness Analytics (BA) tools and techniques.
