Resumo

The aim of this paper is to analyze and compare the performance of OLSR and BMX protocols on a mesh network configured with OpenWrt firmware using different hardware equipment. OpenWrt is a perfectly good software that can be used in several different devices. Its configuration for using it with BMX and OLSR protocols is simple to perform and has no problem to work with both protocols. Empirical results of several tests are presented using the same scenario. This scenario is a real world network and not a laboratory network, with real tests and no simulations. To measure performance, we use Round-Trip Time-RTT, jitter, probability of error and testing of bandwidth as metrics. Both protocols were installed in a variety of equipment and both presented a satisfactory behaviour.
