Abstract

A social project, existing since 2014, and guided by a computer science student, with the support of a credit union, has aimed to provide children from a public school (in a humble neighborhood of <omitted city>) contact with technological tools and computer science. In this paper, we report a pedagogical experience of using DICT (Digital Information and Communication Technologies) throughout the edition of the project completed in the first half of 2019. The teaching method used included logical reasoning exercises and the production of projects with algorithms and block programming. Concerning the obtained results, there is, in summary, the children's motivation regarding programming learning, stimulating their creativity, cooperation, autonomy, and the ability to solve problems.
